The state weather bureau PAGASA is monitoring a potential super typhoon with international name Fung-wong that will enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) this weekend.
In it’s 5 a.m. advisory on Friday, state meteorologists warned of possible heavy rainfall in 25 areas in Luzon and the Visayas as it intensified into a severe tropical storm while the Northeast Monsoon is affecting Extreme Northeastern Luzon.
PAGASA said once inside PAR, the domestic name “UWAN” will be assigned to the tropical cyclone.
