ILOILO CITY — Several areas in the Visayas continue to experience dangerously high heat index levels, with some stations reaching the “danger” category over the past five days, according to the latest monitoring and forecast of the DOST-Pagasa issued as of 5 p.m. on April 28, 2026.
Data show that in Western Visayas, Dumangas, Iloilo recorded a peak heat index of 46°C on April 24, while Iloilo City reached 43°C on multiple days, placing both areas under the “danger” classification (42°C to 51°C). In Negros Island, La Granja in La Carlota City also logged heat indices as high as 44°C, reinforcing the sustained extreme heat across the central Philippines.
