MANILA, Philippines — Former President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday said he is certain that Filipinos are now “annoyed” with the administration of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr. due to several reasons, including “failed promises.”
In his speech delivered during the proclamation rally of Partido ng Demokratiko Pilipino senatorial candidates, Duterte said he could sense that Filipinos were becoming annoyed but emphasized that he did not want to “raise it to the level of anger.”
“Alam ko napipika ang [mga] Pilipino. As of now, not hatred naman, pero I could sense — napipika na ang tao kaya yung sentimento ng tao, papasok ‘yan sa utak nila habang nagugutom — patay. Tapos tayong lahat,” said Duterte.
