MANILA, Philippines — Ten areas were forecast to experience a dangerous heat index on Thursday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
A dangerous heat index is between 42°C and 51°C, which may cause heat cramps, heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
The heat index is forecast to reach 44°C in Roxas City, Capiz; 43°C in Alabat, Quezon; Cuyo, Palawan; Bicol International Airport monitoring station in Daraga, Albay; Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Sur and 42°C in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan; Mambusao, Capiz; and Borongan and Guiuan, Eastern Samar.
