MANILA, Philippines — Virac town in Catanduanes province is again expected to experience a dangerous heat index of 43°C on Monday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Serviceas Administration (Pagasa).
If this happens, Virac’s heat index will hit the “danger” category for five consecutive days, with its highest reaching 45°C last April 2.
In its latest bulletin, the state weather bureau also said its monitoring stations in Dagupan City in Pangasinan and Dumangas in Iloilo forecast a 42°C heat index in the areas.
