Danger-level heat index recorded in parts of Cavite, Quezon – Pagasa

LUCENA CITY — Despite the onset of the rainy season, parts of Cavite and Quezon provinces experienced scorching temperatures on Friday, June 12, with heat index levels reaching the “danger” category, prompting authorities to urge residents to take precautions against heat-related illnesses.

In an advisory posted on Facebook, the Imus City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) reported that the city’s heat index climbed to 42.2 degrees Celsius at 12:15 p.m.

The agency warned residents to limit prolonged exposure to extreme heat, noting that such conditions could cause heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and, in severe cases, heat stroke.
