The Philippine women’s football team was drawn alongside China in Group G, while the men’s U-23 squad will face Vietnam as one of its opponents in Group C of the Aichi- Nagoya Asian Games in September.
The Filipinas will also take on familiar foes Uzbekistan and Hong Kong in their group, while the U-23 men were grouped with Vietnam, Uzbekistan and Kuwait for the competition, which begins Sept. 15.
Both draws were held on Thursday, with the Filipinas competing in the Asian Games for the second straight edition, while the Philippines is sending a men’s team for the first time since 1974, now that teams are allowed to field senior players.
