By MANILA, Philippines — State witness Henry Alcantara’s testimony has “strengthened” the defense of former Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. after he was linked to an allegedly anomalous P92.8-million project in Pandi, Bulacan, his camp said Friday.
Alcantara, a former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) district engineer in the Bulacan 1st District Engineering Office, took the witness stand before the Sandiganbayan Third Division for Revilla’s bail hearing and that of his co-accused in their malversation case.
Associate Justice Ronald Moreno asked whether Alcantara has personal knowledge of any dealings, such as the 30 percent “commitment” and Revilla being the proponent of the project under the acronym “SBR” written on the documents he submitted before the court.
