By The prosecution team does not subscribe to the idea that former Office of the Vice President (OVP) special disbursing officer (SDO) Gina Acosta is dumb or playing dumb with her repetitive answers and difficulty to understand some questions, but members agreed that she has been evasive and too careful to make mistakes.
During a press briefing on Monday while the Vice President Sara Duterte’s impeachment trial was on a break, House of Representatives public prosecutor Bukidnon Rep. Jonathan Keith Flores and prosecution panel spokesperson Robert Ace Barbers were asked if Acosta was an incompetent SDO or if she was merely acting as such.
Both Flores and Barbers said they do not think Acosta is dumb, as her position as SDO — initially for confidential funds (CF) under Davao City when Duterte was Mayor and eventually for OVP — requires a lot of experience and ability.
