MANILA, Philippines — The chance that the low-pressure area (LPA) inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) will develop into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours remains “high,” the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Wednesday.
In its 5 a.m. weather forecast, Pagasa weather specialist Loriedin Dela Cruz said if the LPA strengthens, the tropical cyclone wind signal will quickly be raised over eastern parts of Northern and Central Luzon.
“Our latest analysis likewise shows that within the next 24 hours, this LPA will be slowly moving and there is still a high chance that it will approach our land,” she added.
