*Some* 11,000 fully grown marijuana plants were uprooted and destroyed in a recent operation in Malungon, Sarangani province.
According to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) regional office in Soccsksargen (Region 12), the estimated value of the marijuana plants was placed at P2.2 million.
The joint operation was conducted in Barangay B’laan on Thursday, February 6, by personnel from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), the 73rd Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army, the Philippine Coast Guard, and provincial and municipal police units.
