*MANILA*, Philippines — Rain will persist in parts of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao on Saturday, January 18, as the northeast monsoon, shear line, and easterlies continue to affect the county’s weather.
In a bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services (Pagasa) said the eastern section of Luzon has a high chance of cloudy skies and rains due to the shear line – the area where cold winds from the northeast monsoon, locally termed amihan, clash with warm winds from the Pacific Ocean or easterlies.
