By The low-pressure area (LPA) outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) is forecast to affect parts of Visayas and Mindanao, while Luzon may experience generally fair weather on Friday, July 31, the state weather bureau said.
Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) weather specialist Obet Badrina said during a 5 a.m. weather advisory that the trough of the LPA is expected to bring heavy rainfall over Visayas, as well as the eastern sections of Mindanao, particularly over Caraga, Davao Region, South Cotabato, and Sarangani.
“Looking at the track, the cloud formations associated with the low-pressure area will bring cloudy skies and a high probability of heavy rainfall to large parts of the Visayas — including Masbate — as well as the eastern sections of Mindanao, specifically the Caraga and Davao regions, South Cotabato, and Sarangani,” he said.
