MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang on Sunday denied allegations that the plunder case filed against Sen. Rodante Marcoleta and his campaign donors was politically motivated, saying the complaints stemmed from evidence and admissions from the senator himself.
In an interview on dzMM, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said the Marcos administration had no hand in the investigation and filing of the cases, which were initiated by the Office of the Ombudsman, an independent constitutional body beyond the control of the executive branch.
