By MANILA, Philippines — Police Security and Protection Group (PSPG) and Philippine Marine Corp officers who were deployed to the Senate, as well as personnel of the Office of the Senate Sergeant-at-Arms (OSAA), will undergo paraffin tests after an incident in which gunshots were heard at the chamber, according to the Philippine National Police (PNP).
The PNP, the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the National Bureau of Investigation have all denied that their personnel had fired shots at the Senate on Wednesday night amid tensions over the looming arrest of Sen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa.
