Dela Rosa to Marcos: Protect all Filipinos, it’s your moral obligation

MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa pleaded President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Tuesday to protect every Filipino against extrajudicial rendition, reminding him that it is his moral obligation, and not just his constitutional mandate.

“Sir BBM, I am not angry with you, and I also know that you do not have any personal anger toward me,” Dela Rosa said in Filipino during an interview at the Senate, when asked about his message for the president.

“I am now appealing to you to take care of every Filipino so they are not taken to another country. You are our President, and it is your moral obligation—not only your constitutional mandate—to protect every Filipino from being taken abroad, especially when you know they have no jurisdiction over us.”
