By MANILA, Philippines—Magnolia relied on a red-hot start to defeat TNT, 106-94, in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup at Ninoy Aquino Stadium on Tuesday.
The win tightened the standings, lifting the Hotshots from a logjam around the eighth seed into a joint tie for sixth place at 6-5, alongside the Tropang 5G.
“I need to give credit to the whole team and the coaching staff for the game plan we had. We really focused and disciplined ourselves,” Magnolia coach LA Tenorio said.
