MANILA, Philippines — The heat index reached the danger level in eleven areas on Tuesday and peaked at 45ºC in Pili, Camarines Sur, according to the state weather bureau.
Heat index refers to how hot it actually feels to the human body when air temperature and humidity are combined, The danger level heat index is from 42ºC to 51ºC, and increases risks of heat cramps and heat exhaustion, which could lead to heat stroke.
