By MANILA, Philippines — Palace Press Officer Claire Castro on Wednesday dismissed ACT Teachers party-list Rep. Antonio Tinio’s claims that the release of multibillion-peso local government support funds (LGSF) was a way to distribute “pork barrel,” calling them pure criticism and intrigue.
Tinio was referring to the launch of the “Sa Bagong Pilipinas, Bawat Bayan Makikinabang” initiative at Malacañang Palace on Monday, which brought together local executives and opposition members for the distribution of nearly P58 billion in national government assistance to local government units (LGUs).
