MANILA – Three more suspects, including the alleged gunman, in the killing of Central Luzon police officer Staff Sgt. Renato Casauay Jr. are now in police custody, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said Friday.
In a press briefing at Camp Crame, Bulacan Provincial Police Office chief Col. Angel Garcillano identified the gunman as Julian Salamat, a “police asset” of the PNP Drug Enforcement Group, Based on police reports, Salamat voluntarily surrendered at the Digos City Police Station in Tagum City, Davao del Norte at about 8:44 a.m. on Wednesday.
