By Carlo Aquino and Anne Curtis explained the reason behind the breakdown of Aquino’s character Matmat in “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay,” with the latter reiterating that it has something to do with his routine being “messed up.”
In the series, Matmat (Aquino) or Matthew Gonzales has high-functioning autism with an irrational fear of butterflies. However, a recent episode showed him breaking down due to his younger brother Patrick (Joshua Garcia) not informing him of his out-of-town trip with Mia (Curtis).
“‘Yung mga ibang tao, akala nila nagseselos ako sa’yo, ayokong kuhanin mo [si Patrick] (Other people thought my character was jealous of you, that I don’t want you to take Patrick away from me),” Aquino said, referring to Curtis.
