MANILA, Philippines — The low pressure area (LPA) located in northern Sulu Sea will continue to bring rain over several parts of the country on Thursday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

According to Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estareja, the LPA was last spotted 80 kilometers (km) east northeast of Cuyo, Palawan.

“This LPA is still not expected to become a typhoon and is likely to dissipate in the next 24 hours,” said Estareja.
“However, it will still bring rain over much of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and northern Mindanao,” he added.
