LUCENA CITY — The municipality of Taytay, Rizal is experiencing dangerously high temperatures after recording another extreme heat index on Saturday, May 30.
In a public advisory posted on its Facebook page at around 11:15 a.m., the Taytay Public Information Office (PIO) said the town’s heat index, or “real-feel” temperature, reached 45.4 degrees Celsius as of 12:20 noon.
On May 29, Taytay recorded a heat index of 47°C at nearly the same time, while on May 28, the municipality registered a scorching 51°C before noon, The advisory, written in Filipino, warned that extreme heat could cause heat cramps, heat exhaustion and heat stroke, urging residents to take extra precautions.
