MANILA, Philippines — The Marcos administration’s Cabinet officials should continue working despite several complaints, as staunch criticism comes with the territory, House Deputy Speaker Paolo Ortega V said on Monday.
He made the statement in response to the plunder and malversation complaint filed against Executive Secretary Ralph Recto over the directive to transfer funds from the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) and the Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) to the national treasury.
“In public service, especially in high-ranking positions, criticisms, intrigues, and complaints meant to disrupt government work and tarnish the credibility of officials will never go away,” he said in Filipino.
