By MANILA — Filipino standout Kevin Quiambao was named the Rookie of the Year in the Korean Basketball League (KBL) after an impressive 2025-26 season with the Goyang Sono Skygunners
Quiambao averaged 15.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 4.0 assists, along with 1.1 steals and 0.4 blocks per game. His all-around brilliance powered the Skygunners to their first playoff appearance, finishing the season with a 28–26 record. The do-it-all forward also became the third consecutive Filipino to win the honor, after RJ Abarrientos (formerly with Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus) and JD Cagulangan (previously with Suwon KT Sonicboom).
