By MANILA, Philippines — Suspending the value-added tax (VAT) on fuel products is unlikely as of this time, as it will be an unwise move to bring down the country’s revenues even further, Marikina Rep. Miro Quimbo said in an online interview on Thursday.
“Yes, it is unlikely, and it is unwise to do it today because it will only bring more damage when you remove the VAT because it will leave a much bigger hole in terms of government revenue,” he said partly in Filipino.
