By MANILA, Philippines — La Salle came out firing to kick off its title redemption bid with a 25-19, 25-14, 27-25 sweep of Far Eastern in the UAAP Season 88 women’s volleyball opener on Saturday at Mall of Asia Arena.
While Lady Spikers lost steam after dominating the first two sets, team captain Shevana Laput and ace spiker Angel Canino came through to preserve the three-set victory.
The Lady Tamaraws showed contender status in the third set and held set point, 24-22, before La Salle took matters into their own hands, saving set points.
