MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Storm Basyang (international name: Penha) maintained its strength as it approached the Caraga region in Mindanao on Thursday evening, with 15 areas under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 2, the state weather bureau said.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, Astronomical and Services Administration’s (Pagasa) 8 p.m. bulletin, Basyang was last spotted some 115 kilometers (km) east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.
